Forgotten

Narrative Counterpart:

Does it pain you to think

You may be forgotten

Your name lost to the wind

Your deeds buried, just out of reach

Your memory never spoken of

Or, do you live as if today matters most

What if its more about being felt

Than remembered

The impression you left that carried forward

The kindness you inspired that changed a lineage

The courage that saved a life

Does it matter to know your name

Or can the latter be enough?

I’ve used coffee in other pieces as an accent but I really wanted to let it hold the space and help the other strokes and accents unfold in it’s grace. My mind was playing with the acceptance of being forgotten and what that really means for me.
