There’s something special about creating artwork that provokes conversation, emotion and curiosity.
Based in Utah County, Kirsten Asher (Brossette) is a contemporary abstract artist dedicated to a practice of material mindfulness. With a background rooted in sustainable efforts, Kirsten completed the Sustainability program at MIT, where she received the Fire-Hydrant Award for Excellence. This academic inquiry serves as the foundation for her studio practice, guiding her choice of materials and her desire to create art that respects the natural world.
Her work is characterized by its rich, textural depth and a sophisticated use of 'hybrid media.' By blending an array of alcohol inks, acrylic, earth pigments spray paint and the occasional wine or coffee, she creates immersive pieces that evokes curiosity. Kirsten’s art is collected by those who value both modern aesthetics and an organic connection to the materials used in the creative process.
When she isn't in her studio, Kirsten can be found exploring the rugged landscapes with her husband and two dogs, composing narratives that accompany her visual work or continuing to follow the curiosity that drives her creative evolution.
